The VSI-Pro-Max-8 is the latest in the evolution of the popular VSI line of POS / Cash Register Interfaces from AVE. The VSI-Pro-Max-8, can now support up to 8 registers in one unit, additional VSI-Pro-Max-8 or single VSI-Pro-Max’s can be looped using RJ45 connections, also as per the VSI-PRO-MAX it comes with larger memory space to hold ALL the AVE Interfaces in one unit with full remote PC or DVR programming for selection and setups and onsite firmware updating. New video processing circuitry allows use with new WDR cameras and low video of commonly used UTP adapters. Built in RS-232, RS-485, Passive and the new Opto-Isolated selection, gives complete isolation from the POS/Cash Register from the video system. Internal 40 Mhz operation allows for combining the Networking functions of the Hydra, Regcom, Networker or Vnetworker within one convenient unit with looping RJ45’s for a seem less solution for multiple till configuration.
The VSI-Pro-Max range now supports programming of all units via one unit, so ideal for covert or difficult to reach installations.
The VSI-Pro range translates data from transactions at the cash register and overlays this information as text onto the video images from the CCTV system. This information is permanently embedded onto the images, and therefore cannot be tampered with. The combination of cash register data and CCTV images makes it easy to identify suspicious transactions such as the one on the left.
A quick review of the footage shows that this kind of transaction is easily discovered. Without the VSI-Pro range this transaction would have gone undetected as neither a review of the CCTV footage or the till receipts alone would anyone have identified this.

VSI-PRO-MAX offers alarm outputs, exception history with a time
and date stamp. The EX function gives hard alarm outputs
(contact closures). This alarm can trigger a VCR or switcher
to home to a camera watching a particular cash register,
Quad or a Speed Dome to go to a preset position when
certain types of exceptional transactions are detected.
The alarm outputs are accessed through the DB-9 connector
which plugs into the rear of the VSI.

Video
from the camera goes to video in on the VSI-PRO-MAX.
This camera typically watches the general area, including
the register, counter, employee and customer. Video
out from the VSI-PRO-MAX goes on to the existing video system. |

Most new ECR have a RS232 output or can have an external device tapped, but some
low end registers require the installation of an RS-232
board from the register vendor. While others with no RS-232 ability
must be fitted with an additional interface module which converts the printer data to RS-232 for the VSI-PRO-MAX. |
| Red. |
Data from the VSI-PRO-MAX-8 is consolidated and transmitted to a compatible DVR in an addressable format or daisy chained to another VSI-PRO-MAX-8 or Hydra, then to the DVR

The
optional EX function gives you 2 hard alarm outputs to trigger
alarming VCR's, Quads, or other alarming devices for
